It struck me that the Spanish can do an American accent as good as we Brits…

Notice how nobody stands on the big square area at the back? More on that later, literally…

As for us, well we walked the couple of miles past the glorious valleys to get there at about 4pm, and sat outside a bar downstairs for a drinky poos.

Then went to one of the restaurants upstairs for sea food and chicken paella whilst surveying the Med.

Then went back downstairs to another bar and watched the band play on into the warm, warm night… Waving arms about to “Hey Jude,” and generally dancing along with everyone else’s smiley faces.

Oh what a way to spend an ordinary sunny Sat-ur-day!

I can’t capture the awesome atmosphere and charisma of this place with photos… It’s just everyday life for local people and their families. All free, and it comes as a very pleasant culture shock to us. Oh, and they even have cold water steam that blows out from above the shops and restaurants. At first we thought it was from the air conditioners, but no, it’s deliberate to keep you cool. (Well a bit cooler!) By the time it reaches your head it’s just a very fine mist. (Not enough to spoil your hairdo though).

Walk from any end of the place to another and you’ve covered half a mile. These photos just show the centre, all the shopping aisles lead off from it. And everywhere is so CLEAN, even PRISTINE…

Think how much this high quality everything would cost in rip off Britland. Whilst braving the freezing cold (in August), holding onto what’s left in your purse, and watching the yobs and lager louts take over. Even bum’s and tits Benidorm’s got sun, sea and white sand going for it.

Can’t end on such a sour note, thankfully, we’re a world away from Britland, and two hours drive south of Benny’s Dorm…
