We Have A House Guest

He’s called Larry and has moved inside outside our house. Bless him, he’s just 2 inches long, and ventures out every night around 11pm.

Here he his emerging from his sun apartment beyond 11pm…

There’s all sorts of traditional Spanish adornments on the outside of our house, so this is his own “town house” on the wall…

And we’ve come to the conclusion the light above the front door is his holiday home – but only if it’s switched off…

So us two big softy’s end up putting other lights on instead when we’re sat outside. There was a time (a few weeks ago) when he would scuttle inside his sun apartment if one of us moved. Hence WE could’ve been sat there till 4am so as not to disturb. But we’ve come to the conclusion that he has to get accustomed to us being sat out here at (beyond) 11pm too. I mean for goodness sake the rest of the house is ours so we’ve all got to share…

We suspect he’s a bit shy because another lizard tried to move into his sun apartment on two separate occasions and they ended up fighting over it. He was severely traumatised, did you know lizards can squeak? Oh dear, after the second scuffle we were ready to call the emergency services. But he emerged later unscathed, so it put our minds at rest…

Here’s a couple of other photos you may or might not like to see, depending on where you live…

Today’s temperature in the shade, that’s the one on the left,, way up beyond the smiley face at 34, except in direct sun it was around 40 plus…

The one on the right is humidity, but that only really kicks in at night because the air is so warm and dry.

As I write this at 11.44pm the humidity has risen to 60, but the temperature is, well, still 31 degrees, hmm loverly…

Here’s a photo I took the other night, the moon, Saturn and Venus all so close to each other. Crap photo, but it was the best I could do:

So anyway back down on earth today, at over 40 degrees in the sun, we got all togged up in spray on sun tan lotion and tootled off out.

What started off as walking to the shops for some proper walking sandals for Dave, ended up with us joining in a rock concert…

Photos tomorrow cos we’re having a day off…
